The Plant Candlestick
Preparation Time:
30 minutes
This is what I need:
- A bottle of Vitamont Fizzy drinks fair trade 75cl Ginger Ale
- Aquatic plants
- Candles about 5 cm long and 2cm in diameter
- A steel wool sponge
- A scrubbing spatula
- An eco-friendly substitute for acetone (a mixture of white vinegar and lemon, for example)
- A nail file
Let’s get started!
1-Remove the label from the bottle by running it under hot water, and scraping with the spatula
2-Remove the remaining glue with the eco-friendly acetone substitute
3-Dry the bottle
4-File the bottom base of your candle to adjust it to the size of the neck opening of the bottle.
5-Fill your bottle with water, and add your aquatic plant
6-Insert the base of your candle inside the neck of the bottle, push it about 1cm down so that it holds well
The little trick
You can also use fake fabric plants for an equally beautiful look !
